Road Hazards

  • Wet leaves can be as dangerous as ice and can obscure traffic lanes. Leaves cause your wheels to lose traction and slip even after you have braked. It is best to slow down in these conditions
  • Less daylight hours – allow eyes to adjust to the dark before driving and avoid using your high beam headlights under foggy conditions
  • Watch out for deer! Deer are most active during sunset and sunrise
  • Back to school – watch out for pedestrians, bicyclists, joggers and motorcyclists

Vehicle Tips

  • Check your battery connections – tight and corrosion-free
  • Check tire tread
  • Check windshield wipers and fill up the washer reservoir
  • Check that your heating and cooling system is working properly
  • Check that all lights are working properly
  • Or make an appointment with LTP Garage Services to have these items inspected

Weather Conditions

  • Fall is a damp, wet season – be aware of road conditions
  • Lower temperatures may mean fog and frost – be prepared for slippery, frost-covered roads – know before you go
  • Check your speed - slow down and keep your distance – allow space between you and the vehicle in front of you
  • Clean frost and dew from windows before vehicle operation
